Water Delivery Prices, Booking & Payment
What affects your delivered price and what to expect after placing an order.
How much does water delivery cost?
Your price depends on the delivery address, water type, required volume and site access. Enter your address on our water delivery price page to view your price, then continue through the booking page when you are ready to order.
Commercial deliveries, multiple loads and specialised jobs may require tailored pricing. Contact our team with the project address, volume, access and timing so we can price the work correctly.
What is the Fuel Adjustment Factor?
A temporary Fuel Adjustment Factor may be applied when diesel prices rise significantly. It applies to the cartage portion of a delivery rather than the water or product portion.
The current rate is shown separately with the applicable price or invoice and is reviewed regularly against the Z Energy national fuel price table.
How do I book a water delivery?
Use our online water delivery booking form and provide your address, contact details, tank location, access information and requested water volume. If water is needed urgently, select the urgent option in the form so our team receives the information required to assess the earliest available delivery.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
For bookings made more than 10 days ahead, we normally send a reminder about five days before delivery and ask you to confirm. Please cancel or reschedule before 3pm on the business day before delivery.
If a cancellation is received after 3pm, a $50 administration charge may be retained. If the truck is already travelling to the property or has arrived, the full delivery charge may apply. Read our customer terms and conditions.
How can I pay?
You can pay by internet banking or through the secure card link on your invoice. Available online options include Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay. Artesian & Solway Water is also a registered Ministry of Social Development supplier.

Delivery Areas & Water Types
Where we travel and the water options available for homes, pools and projects.
Where do you deliver water?
Our regular delivery network covers Auckland, Rodney and southern Northland, broadly from Maungatūroto to Mercer. We may be able to help outside the regular area depending on the job, route and volume required.
See our water delivery service areas, check your address for a price, or contact us if your location is not listed.
Do you deliver artesian water Auckland-wide?
We deliver artesian water across much of Auckland, Rodney and southern Northland. Because our artesian source is in the Warkworth area, treated town-supply water can be a more economical option for some destinations between Orewa and Bombay. We will help select the most practical option for your address and intended use.
What type of water do you deliver?
We deliver drinking water from registered sources, including water drawn from deep artesian bores and treated town-supply water. The best option depends on your location, intended use and delivery requirements.
Learn more on our water quality and sources page.
Are you a registered drinking-water carrier?
Yes. We operate as a registered drinking-water carrier and follow documented procedures for approved water sources, tanker hygiene, testing, cleaning and delivery records. Our food-grade stainless-steel tankers are dedicated to water cartage.
Why do you use stainless-steel water tankers?
Food-grade stainless steel is durable, corrosion resistant and easy to clean. It helps protect drinking-water quality during transport and is well suited to a professional water delivery fleet.

Tanker Access, Hose Length & Delivery Day
Preparing your property helps our driver complete the delivery safely and efficiently.
What access does the water tanker need?
Please allow approximately 3.5 metres of clear width and 4 metres of clear height, including overhanging branches. The route should be firm, stable and suitable for a heavy vehicle.
- Open gates and remove avoidable obstructions.
- Keep dogs and livestock securely contained.
- Tell us in advance about steep, narrow, soft, grassed or difficult access.
- Make the tank inlet and safe hose route easy to identify.
If the truck cannot safely reach the normal unloading position, we may discuss a different vehicle, longer hose or alternative arrangement.
Do I need to be home for the delivery?
Usually not. We can often deliver while you are away if payment and access are arranged and you give clear instructions for the gate, driveway, tank location and inlet. Please ensure animals are secured and the driver can complete the delivery without needing access to locked buildings.
How much hose do your trucks carry?
Standard delivery includes up to 40 metres of hose. We may be able to reach up to approximately 80 metres when arranged in advance. Extra hose beyond the standard allowance may incur an additional charge.
Can you deliver to a property with difficult access?
Often, yes. Our fleet includes vehicles suited to different access conditions. Send photos or describe narrow gates, steep drives, tight turning areas, low branches, soft ground and the distance from the parking point to the tank when booking. Access decisions remain with the driver on site.
How long does it take to fill a water tank?
Once the hose is connected, a typical tanker load usually takes around 10–15 minutes to discharge. Set-up time depends on access and hose distance. A standard 10,000-litre load will fill less than half of a typical 23,000-litre household tank.
Can I order less than 10,000 litres?
Yes, but a residential delivery is generally charged as a full tanker load because the vehicle, driver, travel time and booking allocation are substantially the same. Tell us the available tank capacity so we can avoid overfilling.
Do you offer urgent or emergency water delivery?
Yes. Our standard service is already fast, and an urgent delivery option may be available depending on your location, existing bookings, tanker availability and safe access. Start with the online booking form and select the urgent option. This gives our team the information needed to assess the earliest available delivery before any follow-up call is required.
See our urgent and emergency water delivery service for availability details and practical steps if your tank is running low.
Water Tanks, Sediment, Cleaning & Monitoring
Simple steps that help protect water quality and reduce the chance of unexpectedly running out.
Will a delivery stir up sediment in my tank?
It can. Water entering the tank may disturb sediment on the bottom, especially if the tank has not been cleaned for some time. Allow the water to settle for at least two hours before using it for drinking or cooking where practical.
Heavy sediment can affect filters and water quality. If this happens regularly, arrange a water tank inspection and cleaning service.
How often should a water tank be cleaned?
Inspect your tank, roof, gutters, screens, first-flush system and filters at least annually and clean the tank when sediment or contamination requires it. The correct interval varies with the catchment, surrounding trees, tank design and water use.
See our Auckland water tank cleaning page. Contractors we have recommended include Mobi-Kair Rodney, Mobi-Kair Mangawhai, Matakana Tank Cleaning and Northern Tank Cleaning.
Will the driver tell me if my tank is dirty?
If contamination or heavy sediment is clearly visible from a safe position, the driver may let you know. However, tank interiors often cannot be fully inspected during delivery. The property owner remains responsible for tank maintenance, catchment cleanliness, filters and household treatment equipment.
How can I avoid running out of tank water?
Check the level regularly, order before the tank is nearly empty and pay closer attention during dry, windy or high-use periods. A connected tank level sensor can show water levels remotely and provide low-level alerts.
We install and support water tank monitoring systems, including TankMate and Smart Water solutions for different tank locations and connectivity conditions.
Can you refill the tank after it has been cleaned?
Yes. Arrange the cleaning date first, then book drinking water for the refill. Tell us the tank capacity, whether it will be completely empty and when the cleaner expects the tank to be ready.
Pools, Farms & Commercial Water Delivery
Bulk delivery options for uses beyond a standard household tank refill.
Can you fill swimming pools and spas?
Yes. We deliver bulk water for new pool fills, top-ups and spas across Auckland and surrounding service areas. Tell us the pool dimensions or volume, address, access and hose distance so we can plan the number of loads and suitable water source. Learn more about swimming pool water delivery in Auckland.
Do you supply farms and lifestyle blocks?
Yes. We deliver to rural homes, farms and lifestyle properties for household tanks, stock, gardens, irrigation, fire tanks and other approved uses. Please describe farm-gate access, ground conditions, animals and tank location when booking.
Do you provide commercial and civil water supply?
Yes. Our commercial services include construction water, dust suppression, drilling support, landscaping, temporary supply, civil works and scheduled bulk deliveries. Visit our commercial water delivery page to tell us about the job, or use our dedicated pool water delivery page for pool fills.
